The 2019 Hurricane Awarness Tour. BIG success!

On May 10, the SERVPRO of Brunswick had the great privilege of being involved in a Hurricane Awareness expo at the Brunswick Golden Isles Airport!

The event was put together and planned by the Glynn County Emergency Management Agency as well as other departments with in Glynn County. The National Weather Services brought in the Hurricane Hunter aircraft as well as the brave pilots and flight crew! This amazing aircraft is sent into the dangerous storms so meteorologists can further analyze and understand the path of the storm. Learn more about NOAA Hurricane Hunters here

The event was a huge success and a great learning experience for everyone that attended. This event truly showcased the amount of planning and resource that go into predicting Hurricanes. Brunswick and Glynn County was well represented by having various emergency departments in attendance: Brunswick Police, Glynn County Police, Glynn County Fire, Brunswick Fire, Georgia State Patrol, Georgia DNR, Glynn County Sheriff's, as well as other valuable state and local agencies. SERVPRO of Brunswick was eager to participate and hand out valuable emergency preparedness tips for our local area such as evacuations maps and what to do after a hurricane strikes.

Our SERVPRO of Brunswick team had a great time at the event learning about the “behind the sciences” of predicting a hurricane. We are grateful and thankful to have met a few of the brave men and women that serve in the United States Air Force that are responsible for flying a specialized aircraft during hurricanes to better get a forecast.

SERVPRO of Brunswick wants to thank all of the brave men and women in uniform that keep our community safe. We look forward to attending next years event!
